Operational Language and Culture Training

Operational Language and Culture Training System (OLCTS) courses systematically build users’ skills and confidence as they learn the target language and culture. Once a learner has sufficiently mastered the course material, he/she is then placed in immersive 3D simulated environments where language and culture skills are practiced and evaluated.

A wide variety of training missions are supported including civil affairs, rapport building, reconstruction, negotiations, crowd management, team training, and information gathering.
Courses are available in the following languages:

• Iraqi Arabic
• Pashto
• Dari
• Sub-Saharan French
• Indonesian
• Swahili

Mobile Apps

Currently available for Apple Mobile devices such as the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, Alelo language and culture apps present the complete lesson content of the Desktop courses formatted for "anytime, anywhere" training.

Operational Language and Culture courses on mobile devices are designed for everything from supplemental and/or retention and review training to complete course activity; and all possible from the palm of your hand.

The full course content can be downloaded and installed stateside -- or from anywhere in the world where internet access to the Apple iTunes App Store is available -- and stored locally for off-line usage in remote areas.

Virtual Cultural Awareness Trainer (VCAT)

Our cultural awareness trainers go beyond simply teaching do's and don'ts—they help you to develop true intercultural competence, which is necessary for conducting successful military operations. Learners are put in 3D virtual environments where they can practice critical decision-making in contextualized environments. As a testament to the quality of these courses, our award-winning VCAT Afghanistan course is considered mandatory training for US deploying forces.

Courses are currently available for the following regions:

• South America
